The people of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, chose their mayor, a three-year-old Pit Bull called Brynneth Pawltrow on November 8, 2016. She is the fourth canine mayor of the county.

When the 315 population of this small river town realized that they needed a loyal politician a few years ago, they decided that they weren’t just going to limit the candidates among human species.

And Miss Paltrow had won the election of that year. In order to win, she beat out a chicken, a cat, a donkey, and even a human child!

But this isn’t just fun and games. This election has a significant role in developing the community. Each vote for this election costs $1. The money is then used to help out in community activities. Brynn’s campaign alone raised $8,965 that was then used to repair an iconic general store that was damaged because of an electrical fire.

Since her victory, the Mayor hasn’t had a second of free time. The journey as the Mayor started with an appearance alongside Santa Claus at a Save the Animals Foundation event in Cincinnati, Ohio. And now, she’s supporting her local shelter, meeting and greeting fans everywhere!

Brynn’s campaign slogan was quite unique too, saying, “Peace, Love & Brynn”.

“She’s normally got that big old Pit Bull smile,” Bamforth said. “She is a super, super happy dog. There aren’t many people that she’s met that she doesn’t like … [she’s] a good judge of character.”

Bamforth hopes that Brynn’s adoration of everyone is a step forward in making people view Pit Bulls in a new light.

Back in March, Brynn found herself in a little bit of a problem when she posted on her Facebook page asking to go easy on the human food treats. Turns out the Mayor had a little bit of a tummy issue.
