A sanitation worker was emptying a bin into his truck in Oregon earlier this month when he came across something horrifying.
He heard small sounds of whimpers coming from the bottom of the bin.
When he took a closer look, he found a small kitten lying helplessly among the trash. It looked like someone abandoned the poor creature in the bin and left him there to die.
“He looked like something out of a Halloween horror show,” Diane Healey, from the Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic, said. “It obviously hadn’t been there too terribly long, or he would have suffocated. The head was covered, the face was covered, the legs were stiff, he couldn’t move them.”
Luckily, someone found him before it was too late.
“The driver took the garbage can back to the Hillsboro Garbage Disposal facility where shop staff worked together to remove the 8-week-old male kitten from the spray foam and take it to a local veterinarian for care,” wrote the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities believe that he was born to a feral cat who is known to the residence around the area he was found in. But right now, they are more concerned about who was responsible for just a heinous act. They are asking the public’s help in finding out the evil human who did this.
Nonetheless, the kitten is doing good so far. A spokesperson at the Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter, where the kitten is currently being looked after and treated, said, “He is expected to make a full recovery.”
