Chase, Haagen Dazs and Klondike, the amazing Pit Bulls had suffered a lot in the hands of their brutal owner, Brenda Bullock from Washington D.C., who has now been charged with animal cruelty.
Humane Society member, Lisa Fontaine, said, “By the age of four months, Chase and his two siblings had experienced more suffering than any living being should be subjected to in a lifetime. Cruelty to animals in any form can never be tolerated and the people of our community should know that we will relentlessly pursue those that commit these crimes.”
Animal control seized the pups from Bullock and took them to a vet for the care they so desperately needed. They had severe mange, which their owner didn’t care to fix. Their pain and health were entirely ignored.
Chase is in a much worse situation than his siblings. He has a badly infected skin, along with mange, and was emaciated. He also had low blood sugar, low body temperature and low blood protein, in addition to being anaemic and unable to walk without assistance.
In the beginning, there wasn’t much hope left for Chase to survive, However, the medical team were dedicated to curing him. He was septic and needed blood transfusions. Then, Chase’s health began improving! He went through a slow recovery but the staffers were very optimistic now.
On the other hand, Haagen Dazs and Klondike found foster homes. Chase, meanwhile, stayed at the medical centre for his treatment.
Soon, Haagen Dazs found his forever home too!
For about two weeks, Chase was at the hospital. Then, he went to a special foster home. He needs special care as his immune system is compromised. Nevertheless, he is doing good. All three pups are on their way to a beautiful future.
The adorable dogs didn’t have a very good start in life, but they surely won’t see it end the same way!
