Animal control officers immediately knew something was wrong when they found one-year-old Peanut lying on a sidewalk in Philadelphia.
They were shocked to find out that Peanut was injected with all kinds of drugs by the neighbourhood kids. They could not afford to leave Peanut unattended as they suspected that Peanut might be heavily drugged. They quickly marked her as an extremely urgent case.
Peanut was quickly rushed to the Faithful Friends Animal Society where it was revealed that she was in fact heavily sedated and was not responsive to external stimuli. The professional vets immediately gave her fluids and were soon transferred to emergency care. After this, she underwent a drug test, the results of which positive for cocaine and THC.
She was kept under critical care the whole night while the staff were extremely worried that she wouldn’t make it through. But Peanut wasn’t the one to give up so easily! She fought the scary effects of the drugs, including the tremors and weakness. She started to show signs of improvement. The very next morning, she slowly began to eat, walk and drink again.
Her kind rescuers decided to give her the name of “Suzi” to mark the beginning of a new life. As Suzi was fighting and recovering with the dedicated love at Faithful Friends, her story started to garner attention from local news operators. Her story affected a lot of families, and one such family from Delaware could not stay idle. They quickly showed interest to adopt her.
Suzi now lives with her new family who is unbelievably loving and kind towards her. You can be rest assured, she will never be intentionally put in any harm again.
