It’s tough to believe that Lotus is not a wildcat when people first see him. Lotus’ mom, Lindstein said, “Many people think he looks like a mini lynx. Sometimes others think that he looks like a little lion.”
Lotus is much closer to your pet cat lounging on the couch, but with his long, flowing coat and huge paws, he resembles them both. Lotus is a Maine coon which is a breed of oversized cat that can top the scales at over 20 pounds as adults.
For sure, Lotus is not an exception. He weighed 22 pounds when he was three years old. It’s a whole lot of cat when he fully stretches out on the sofa. Surprisingly, some Maine coons have grown to be over 30 pounds, and Lotus is a little larger than average.
His mom has needed to make a few adjustments at home — mainly to his bathroom, due to the large size of Lotus. Lotus uses an extra-large plastic storage bin to do his business rather than using a regular cat litter pan. Similarly, he rides around in a large dog crate as he can’t fit in a cat carrier.
“Both humans and even dogs usually react when they [first] see him,” Lindstein told. “Many think at first that he is a dog … It’s lucky that he is very friendly to everyone.”
Lotus adores putting on his harness to go for walks, unlike most cats. With his Maine coon sister named Marion, Lotus gets to visit so many beautiful places in Sweden. The pair seems to love exploring as they go on hikes to relax in the grassy backyard and they enjoy spending time outside.
Lotus has garnered thousands of cat-loving fans who can’t get enough of his fluffy physique as his mother has shared his adventure online. Lotus also does his fair share of relaxing and giving love to his family despite all his picaresque adventures.
His purrs, snuggles, and kisses are all just supersized naturally. “He loves to sleep on the backrest of the house and sleep in bed [with us],” Lindstein told. “He is very kind, gentle and careful. He loves his family, likes to kiss. He often sleeps on his back, very relaxed!” she added.
