Lucky hasn’t had it easy with life.
Born in a puppy mill with a severe facial deformity, Lucky landed in a shelter and couldn’t find a home for a long time. When people looked at him, they didn’t want to adopt him.

When he was finally adopted by a family in Austin, they kept him outside because he couldn’t be friends with their cats. The family left him tied to a tree, starving and cold.

They gave him back to a shelter when they moved.

Another family adopted him too, only to return him. Poor Lucky couldn’t catch a break.

Then a social media post happened. Lucky was out at a groomer’s. A volunteer took a picture of Lucky after he’d had his haircut and Jamie Hult happened upon the picture.

And Lucky finally got lucky.

The second she laid eyes on the pup, she knew he belonged with her!

“It just happened to be somebody in my dog rescue world, so right away I contacted him and said ‘I want that dog. I don’t even want to foster it, I wanna take that dog,” Jamie said.

Since Lucky at the time had heartworms and fleas, he needed extensive veterinary treatment before he was fit for adoption. But Jamie was willing to take care of him herself.

And she lived up to her promises.

With her love, care, and attention, Lucky healed and thrived.

Now, he even has a new name. Say hello to Beaux Tox!

“The reason I named him Beaux Tox is because clearly he looks like he needs botox, and that’s okay. We appreciate beauty in all forms. And the dog bills cost me a fortune which is the reason I don’t have botox!” Jamie said.

And the dog lives up to his name!

It’s been a year since that fateful day Jamie adopted the dog. And it has been a marvelous journey for both of them.
