Drop everything you’re doing right now and see this wholesome thing that will make your heart go aww.
Because that’s what a Massachusetts State Police trooper just did. He was going about his day this week, when he suddenly came across a young coyote in the middle of a busy road.
Carlo Mastromattei looked for the pup’s mother but came up empty-handed. Which is when he decided to call Lisa Cutting, owner of Ocean View Kennels, for help.
Even though the lovely creature was out of harm’s way, Mastromattei wasn’t done yet.
To say he did a lot for this baby coyote would be an understatement. All the rehab facilities and animal sanctuaries were closed at that time.
So, he, with his girlfriend, decided to keep him in their home fo the night. They fed him and kept him warm throughout the dark hours.
Then next morning, the coyote was taken to Tufts Wildlife Clinic. Checkup there confirmed that the little one was doing great–all thanks to this trooper.
Since then, the little creature has been put under the care of a wildlife rehabilitator. Once he’ll grow a little and gain enough strength to survive on his own, he will be released into the wild.
But we couldn’t ignore the hero of this story.
And neither could the police officials who wrote in a post, “The Department offers its sincere thanks to Trooper Mastromattei, his girlfriend, Ocean View Kennels, and Tufts for their compassionate care for this beautiful little creature.”
