The desperation and hopelessness at Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California is quite unmatchable. Damp deadness and cold sadism cocoons the horrible place where lovable creatures are abandoned, neglected, mistreated and left to die.

A prison for dogs–that’s what it is. Not a shelter.

Saving Carson Shelter Dogs

The moment you walk through the door, the rancid smell of dogs and chaos of noise greet you with deafening intensity. The high kill shelter is, perhaps, one of those places where you can see the despair and smell the despondence.

If this one-year-old Chihuahua could talk, she would be wailing all the neglect she faced at Carson Animal Shelter. Her previous owner seemed to have tired of her. And in a heartless abandonment, she was left at the vicious shelter with nothing but a bag of toys and a few treats. The listing for this little pup at Petharbor reads:

“I am described as a female, white Chihuahua – Smooth Coated. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year old. I have been at the shelter since Jan 20, 2017. I don’t have much time left. The shelter is full.”

Saving Carson Shelter Dogs

It seems like the unnamed Chihuahua never seemed to get over the neglect of her previous owner. According to a source close to her, she can still be heard weeping before she falls asleep.

Without argument, a kill shelter is not a place where such a tiny little creature should end up for the rest of her life.

So, if anyone is interested in adopting her and giving her a forever home, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5027030.

Don’t refrain from sharing this Chihuahua’s story on social media, so she can get to a home that wants and loves her as soon as possible!
