MacKenzie Allmon from North Little Rock, Arkansas, loves animals truly. She loves cats and dogs and, having four pet rats, she loves rats as well. She knew how much she loved her pets but she had no idea about what her animals felt about each other until she found her cat, Jagger, somewhere very unexpected.
A year ago, Allmon had adopted Jagger when he was just a kitten. He was born in her garage itself!
“In our old neighbourhood there was a flea market close by and people would give away kittens there — but at the end of the day if they still had some left they would just turn them [loose], which caused our neighbourhood to be filled with wild cats,” Allmon said.
Luckily, among those stray cats, Allmon noticed a cat who was tame and a little hefty around the waist. “We took her in and she ended up having kittens in our garage,” Allmon said.
Allmon helped find the mother and all her kittens homes except for one: Jeremy, who had bonded strongly with her. “I just couldn’t give him up,” she said.
After eight months of adopting Jeremy, Allmon took in a couple of rescue pet rats and then, two more. The new little family members, Willow, Jasmine, Eevee and Sadie, were in. However, Allmon had no idea how Jagger would react.
“Since Jagger was little he’s loved other animals, especially dogs,” Allmon said. “But when I got my rats I didn’t know what to expect.”
One day, somehow, Willow escaped the rat cage.
Allmon got extremely worried and looked all over her house, and found something extremely heartwarming.
“I found her and Jagger cuddling in a crate,” Allmon said.
And it was not just once this incident happened.
“Ever since then they’ve been inseparable,” Allmon said. “They follow each other around the house and LOVE to wrestle with each other.”
Moreover, Jasmine, Eevee and Sadie also adore Jagger. However, Willow has the largest place in Hagger’s heart.
“I’d definitely say Willow is his favourite,” Allmon said. “She’s the one who started it all, the one who got out and first started cuddling with him. They absolutely love each other.”
